About the author
Stephen Jacobs, is passionate about the movies, especially classic ones. Not surprisingly, the work of Boris Karloff is of particular interest to Stephen.
It was this interest the prompted Stephen to devote several years of his life, to write what is a truly fascinating and detailed insight into the life and times of a true movie legend.
Boris Karloff's daughter Sara is so impressed with Stephen's efforts, that she has given his book her official backing and praise saying, "This is the DEFINITIVE biography of my father! I am absolutely delighted to authorize and recommend and praise etc etc etc this book!" - www.karloff.com
Born in Coulsdon, Surrey, Stephen Jacobs is a lifelong film fan. Although Boris Karloff: More Than a Monster is Stephen’s first book it is not his first published work concerning the horror star. Stephen’s articles "More Than the Sum of Its Parts": The Writing of Frankenstein (1931) and “The World is Yours”: The Writing of the Original Scarface have been published by Creative Screenwriting.
His pieces on Karloff ’s early theatrical days – Boris Karloff in Alberta and Karloff in Saskatchewan – have featured in the Canadian magazines Alberta History and Saskatchewan History respectively.
